Hair Treatments: FEEL YOUR BEST
Hair treatments generally refer to any means of managing common hair related problems such as hair fall, dryness, dandruff, frizzy hair, thinning hair, and so on. The treatments vary because different ingredients and elements are required to tackle the problems which can be caused by a variety of reasons such as our lifestyle, dietary habits, the products we already use for our hair, and also our natural hair type.
Hair Treatment Options
The types of products that can be used for hair treatments range from hair masks, shampoos and conditioners, serums, and hair oils. When used appropriately, they can be highly effective. Hair treatments can be used by anyone depending on the hair type. There are no specific side effects to using hair treatments. It usually takes around a month for most treatments to fully come into effect. Products that contain mild ingredients, take longer to take effect, if we use the products correctly, then the results of the treatment can be permanent. The trick is to continually use the product. Instead of using products that are available in the market, we can use home remedies to take care of our hair.
Hair shampoos and conditioners are designed to add moisture to our hair, while others are designed to take away excess oils, combat dandruff and lice and some can be used to make our hair grow faster, turning frizzy hair into sleek hair, getting rid of split ends, and adding shine and gloss to dull, lifeless hair. These shampoos must be used regularly along with its accompanying conditioner. Hair oil, on the other hand, adds moisture to our hair and helps it grow. Some can be used for dandruff and lice.
However, after the treatment, we must protect our hair from environmental damage, stay away from unclean areas to prevent the occurrence of lice in our hair. Similarly, we can wear a scarf over our hair if we’re visiting an extremely dusty or polluted area. When going swimming, we must be sure to wear a swimming cap to prevent damage from chlorine water.
Bond-Fusion: Bond-fusion is a three-phase bond-building system that restores, builds and protects bonds, as it continuously treats and conditions chemically damaged hair to keep it strong, shiny and healthy. Chemical processes like colouring or forming treatments break down disulphide bonds that are essential for strong, resilient, healthy hair. Bond Fusion, repairs and rebuild broken bonds, even create new ones. It also protects the inner structure of each strand.
Bond Fusion is compatible with all hair types and textures, virgin hair and hair that’s been chemically treated or coloured before. After 1,000 comb strokes, hair treated with Bond Fusion experienced 43% less hair breakage and is twice as easy to comb through. It leaves hair up to five times more conditioned after five washes. In addition, Bond Fusion helps to preserve the hair during perming and straightening services, and can be used on its own as a damage-repairing treatment. Bond Fusion is free of sulfates and parabens. Stylists can now achieve maximum bond restoration—with multiple benefits and no reformulating or extra processing time. Hair treated with Bond Fusion is incredibly well-conditioned.
Working with Bond Fusion is easy. There are three steps: Build, Enhance, and Recharge.
In Phase 1, Build: The Bond Builder is added to the colour or lifting formula. It’ll repair broken bonds, creates new bonds and protect the inner structure of the hair. Hair-identical proteins rebuild and strengthen, while reducing breakage and restoring elasticity, resulting in stronger, more flexible and better-conditioned hair.
In Phase 2, Enhance: The Bond Enhancer, a deeply nourishing, restorative treatment, is applied which will strengthen the newly-created bonds, from roots to end, it needs to be left in for least 5 minutes, then rinsed thoroughly to ensure long-lasting conditioning.
Finally Phase 3, Recharge: The Bond Recharger, is the perfect home maintenance product that prolongs the nourishing effect of the Bond Fusion treatment.
As a result, the hair comes out of the color treatment strong, with its integrity intact. After using Bond Fusion, the hair feels brand new and finishes beautifully. It’s shiny, with natural bounce and no buildup.
It’s a system that permanently rebuilds the damaged disulphide bonds in our hair that are broken during the chemical process. Olaplex is formulated to protect our hair from chemical damage. The hair bonds break when hair is colored and subject to regular heat and chemical treatments. Olaplex not only protects the hair from the process to get a desired color, but it also prevents further damage, makes the hair strong, healthier, shinier, and also helps mend some of the previous damage. For best results, it’s important to use it during a color treatment, rather than after it. It is compatible with all hair types. It maximizes the strength of hair by reconnecting broken disulphide bonds in the hair, which gives hair a thicker look and healthier and stronger feeling.
If we’ve over-bleached or had our hair highlighted for years, used heat-styling tools over a number of years, over-curled our hair with curling wands, blow-dried on high heat means we might have damaged the hair to its innermost core. Olaplex allows us to rebuild the strength, structure and integrity of our hair; it is a ‘reset’ for our locks.
It’s a three-part system.
Bond Multiplier is a water solution of the bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate active and is applied to repair the damaged hair. It can also be added directly to the permanent dye solution; mixed in with the bleach and put straight onto our hair in foils. This can be put on the hair as a standalone treatment as well.
Bond Perfector contains the bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate in a smaller amount, in combination with a variety of conditioning agents, this is the post-coloring conditioner treatment. Once the hair dye has been rinsed, it is applied to the hair and left on for around 20 minutes, then rinsed out. A little bit like a deep conditioning hair mask
Hair Perfector, which contains the smallest amount of the active ingredient, along with an assortment of conditioning agents. It’s an at-home treatment that we can use once a week. Pop it onto damp hair, comb it through so that it reaches every strand and then leave for at least ten minutes. We should do it for as long as we can –leave it in whilst we sleep. Then wash out afterwards. It is recommended for use once a week.
For ideal results:
- Dampen the hair and towel-dry.
- Apply 1-3 teaspoons of Olaplex No.3 through our hair evenly and comb through.
- Leave on for 10-30 minutes
- Rinse thoroughly and then use a high-quality shampoo and conditioner.
It’s recommended for use once a week for moderately damaged hair or 1-2 times a month to maintain.
Using Olaplex essentially means we can bleach our hair far too light and leave that bleach on far longer without it breaking off and leaving it in the sink instead of on our head. Olaplex rebuilds broken hair bonds and helps keep the hair healthy and strong. With Olaplex, we cannot even tell that the hair has been touched by bleach.
Olaplex is something of an enigma; it’s become a household name among salon-goers. We can use Olaplex to restore compromised hair, or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance. It’s singlehandedly allowing more and more people to embrace going blonde with less fear of damage.
Deep Conditioning Treatment: Healthy hair is often looked at as something we either have or we don’t. Issues like dryness, frizz, and damage isn’t easy to tackle. Deep conditioning for hair is one of the best ways by which we could improve the health of our hair.
Hair Re-Bonding: Hair re-bonding involves chemically relaxing our hair by breaking down disulphide bonds and then rebuilding them to alter the structure of our hair.
The process starts with the application of a relaxant, which helps break down the protein bonds in our hair. The hair is then straightened and a neutralizer is applied, which rebuilds the bonds with an altered structure.
This treatment helps make textured hair smooth, shiny, and easy to maintain, it also saves a lot of time. Depending on the length of our hair, the treatment can take from 3-8 hours.
Hair is washed with a mild shampoo. Conditioner is not applied.
It is then left to dry naturally or is blow dried.
The stylist divides the hair into sections depending on the texture and volume.
A relaxant from the hair bonding kit is applied while the hair is held straight with the help of thin plastic boards. The stylist takes care to apply the relaxant so that it coats every strand.
The relaxant is then left on for 30 to 45 minutes depending on the texture of the hair.
The hair is then steamed for 10-40 minutes depending on its condition, volume, texture, etc.
The stylist proceeds to wash and dry the hair.
A keratin lotion is applied, and then the hair is straightened with a flat iron at 180°C. A ceramic flat iron is used to do this.
A neutralizer is applied to secure the bonds and left on for 30 minutes.
It is then rinsed out with cold water.
The hair is blowdried, a serum is applied, and the hair is straightened one more time.
Post-Treatment Care: The re-bonding process involves the use of heat and harsh chemicals. Soon after the process, our hair becomes extremely vulnerable to damage and requires intensive care. Such as:
- Avoid washing hair for 72 hours (3 days) after the treatment.
- Try not to tie your hair as it can alter the shape of hair.
- You must ensure you use a mild shampoo specially formulated for chemically treated hair. After washing, you can slather on some conditioner and should wait a few extra minutes so that the hair can soak up some moisture.
- Also try to avoid heat styling, to prevent further damage.
- You mustn’t opt for hair coloring or any other chemical treatments for the next 6 months.
- Hair re-bonding can cause split-ends which is why we should get a hair trim every 6-8 weeks.
We must use cold showers which helps seal our hair shafts, preventing moisture loss and damage. It will also help improve the health of our hair while preserving its shine.
Frizzy and dry hair can be a menace for both men and women. Today’s busy lifestyles leave us no time to take daily care of our manes. So, it becomes extremely important to pamper our hair with nourishing hair treatments at regular intervals of time. To get the best out of these hair care treatments, it’s recommended to get them done with us.
