Hair Treatments: FEEL YOUR BEST
Hair treatments refer to any means of managing common hair related problems which includes hair fall, dryness, dandruff, frizzy hair, thinning hair, and so on. The treatments can vary because different ingredients and elements are required to tackle different problems caused by a variety of reasons such as our lifestyle, dietary habits, the products we already use for our hair, and also our hair type.
HAIR TREATMENTS
Hair Treatment Options
The types of products that can be used in hair treatments include hair masks, shampoos and conditioners, serums, and hair oils. When used appropriately, they can be highly effective. Hair treatments can be used by anyone and the products which will be needed will depend on the type of hair they have. The advantage is that there are no specific side effects to using hair treatments. It usually takes around a month for most hair treatments to fully come into effect. Products that contain mild ingredients usually take longer to show an effect. If the products are used correctly, the results of the treatment will be permanent. The trick is to continually use the product. Instead of using products that are available in the market, we can use home remedies to take good care of our hair.
BOND FUSION
Bond-fusion is a three-part bond-building system that restores, builds and protects bonds. It continuously treats and conditions hair that’s been chemically damaged to keep it strong, shiny and healthy. Chemical processes like colouring or forming treatments break down disulphide bonds that are essential for strong, resilient, healthy hair. Bond Fusion, repairs and rebuilds broken bonds in our hair, and create new ones. It also protects the inner structure of each hair strand.
Bond Fusion is compatible with all hair types and textures, which includes virgin hair and hair that’s been chemically treated or coloured. After 1,000 comb strokes, hair treated with Bond Fusion experienced 43% less hair breakage and becomes twice as easy to comb through. It leaves our hair up to five times more conditioned after five washes. In addition, bond fusion helps to preserve the hair strands during perming and straightening services. It can also be used on its own as a damage-repairing treatment. Bond Fusion is free of sulphites and parabens. Stylists can achieve maximum bond restoration with multiple benefits and no reformulating or extra processing time. Hair treated with Bond Fusion is incredibly well-conditioned.
Working with Bond Fusion is easy. There are three steps: Build, Enhance, and Recharge.
Phase 1: Build
The Bond Builder is added to the colour or lifting formula. It repairs broken bonds, create new bonds and protects the inner structure of the hair. Hair-identical proteins rebuild and strengthen as well as reduce breakage and restore elasticity, resulting in stronger, more flexible and better-conditioned hair.
Phase 2: Enhance
The Bond Enhancer which is a deeply nourishing, restorative treatment; is applied which will strengthen the newly-created bonds, from roots to end. It needs to be left in for least 5 minutes, then rinsed thoroughly to ensure long-lasting conditioning.
Phase 3: Recharge
The Bond Recharger is the perfect maintenance product which should be used at home to prolong the nourishing effect of the Bond Fusion treatment.
OLAPLEX
OLAPLEX: Is a system that permanently rebuilds the damaged disulphide bonds in our hair which are broken during the chemical process. The treatment is formulated to protect our hair from chemical damage. The bonds in the hair break when it is coloured and subjected to regular heat and chemical treatments. Olaplex not only protects the hair from the damage caused during hair colouring treatments, but also prevents further damage. It makes the hair strong, healthier, shinier, and also helps mend some of the previous damage. For best results, it is important to use it during a colour treatment, rather than after it. It is compatible with all hair types. It maximises the strength of hair by rejoining broken disulphide bonds in the hair, which gives hair a thicker look with healthy, stronger feeling.
If you’ve over-bleached, had your hair highlighted for years, used heat-styling tools over a number of years, over-curled your hair with curling wands, or blow-dried on high heat means we might have damaged the hair to its innermost core. Olaplex rebuilds the strength, structure and integrity of our hair; it is a ‘reset’ for our locks.
It’s a three-part system.
Bond Multiplier is a solution of the bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate active and is applied to repair the damaged hair. It can also be added directly to the permanent dye solution or mixed in with the bleach and put straight onto our hair in foils. This can be applied on the hair as a stand-alone treatment as well.
Bond Perfector contains the bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate in a significantly smaller amount. In combination with variety of conditioning agents, this is the post-colouring conditioner treatment. Once the hair dye has been rinsed, it is applied to the hair and kept on for around 20 minutes, then rinsed out. A little like a deep conditioning hair mask.
Hair Perfector, contains the smallest amount of the active ingredient, along with an assortment of conditioning agents. It’s a home treatment that we can use once a week. We can pop it onto damp hair, comb it through so that it reaches every strand and then leave it on for at least ten minutes. We should do it for as long as we can, if possible leave it in whilst we sleep. Then wash out afterwards. It is recommended for use once a week.
For ideal results:
Dampen the hair and towel-dry.
Apply 1-3 teaspoons of Olaplex No.3 (Hair perfector) through your hair evenly and comb through.
Leave on for 10-30 minutes.
Rinse hair thoroughly and then use a high-quality shampoo and conditioner.
It’s recommended to be used once a week for moderately damaged hair or 1-2 times a month to maintain the locks.
Using Olaplex essentially means we can bleach our hair far too light and leave the bleach on far longer without the fear of it breaking off and get drained down the sink instead of staying on our head. Olaplex rebuilds broken bonds and helps keep the hair healthy and strong. With Olaplex, you cannot even tell that the hair has been bleached.
Olaplex is something of an enigma. It has become a household name among salon-goers. We can use Olaplex to restore compromised and damaged hair, or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance. It’s singlehandedly allowing more and more people to embrace going blonde and bleach the hair with less fear of damage.
DEEP CONDITIONING
Deep Conditioning Treatment: Healthy hair is often looked at as something we either have or don’t have. Issues like dryness, frizz, and damage isn’t easy to tackle. Deep conditioning for hair is one of the best ways to improve the health of our hair.
Hair Re-Bonding: Hair re-bonding involves chemically relaxing the hair by breaking down protein bonds and then rebuilding them to alter the structure of our hair.
The process starts with the application of a relaxant, which helps break down the disulphide bonds in our hair. The hair is then straightened and a neutraliser is applied. The neutraliser rebuilds the bonds with an altered structure.
This treatment helps makes hair texture smoother, shinier, and easier to maintain, it also saves a lot of time. Depending on the length of the hair, the treatment can take 3-8 hours.
Method
Hair is washed with a mild shampoo. Conditioner is not applied.
It is left to dry naturally or is blow dried.
The stylist divides the hair into sections depending on its texture and volume.
A relaxant from the hair bonding kit is applied to the hair while it is being held straight with the help of thin plastic boards. The stylist takes care whilst applying the relaxant so that it coats every strand.
The relaxant is then left on for 30 to 45 minutes depending on the hair texture.
The hair is then steamed for 10-40 minutes depending on its condition, texture, and volume etc.
The stylist proceeds to wash and then dry the hair.
A keratin lotion is applied, and then hair is straightened with a flat iron at 180°C. A ceramic flat iron is usually used to do this.
A neutraliser is applied to secure the hair bonds which is then left on for 30 minutes.
It is then rinsed out with cold water.
The hair is blow-dried, a serum is applied, and the hair is straightened once more.
Post-Treatment Care: The re-bonding process involves the use of harsh chemicals and heat. Soon after the process, our hair becomes extremely vulnerable to damage and requires deep intensive care. Such as:
We shouldn’t wash our hair for 72 hours (3 days) after the treatment.
We shouldn’t tie our hair as it can alter the shape of hair.
Then we must ensure we use a mild shampoo specially formulated for chemically treated hair.
After washing, we can slather on some conditioner and should wait a few extra minutes so that the hair can soak up some moisture.
We should also avoid heat styling, to prevent further damage.
We mustn’t opt for hair colouring or any other chemical treatments for the next 6 months.
Hair re-bonding can cause split-ends which is why it is recommended that we get a hair trim every 6-8 weeks.
We must use cold showers which helps to seal our hair shafts, preventing moisture loss and damage. It will also help improve the overall health of our hair while preserving its shine.
Frizzy and dry hair can be an annoyance for both men and women. Today’s busy lifestyles leave us no time to take daily care of our strands. So, it becomes extremely important to pamper our hair with nourishing hair treatments at regular intervals with your hairdresser. To get the best out of these hair care treatments, it’s recommended to get them done from us.
